The site is part of a wider strategic urban extension. It is the fourth phase of the Rivenhall Park development.

Phase one and two of Rivenhall Park were allocated in the council’s core strategy in 2011 and received planning consent in 2018 for 385 new homes.

Phase three of the development, commonly known as Bluebells, was granted consent for 58 new homes and public open space in 2019.

Phase four received outline consent in January 2023.

The established consented proposals
The outline planning consent established the following key principles for the development of Rivenhall Park Phase 4:

230 new homes (69 affordable units).

Provision of vast community open space equalling 7.5 hectares which will contribute to a biodiversity net gain.

New sporting facilities including two new football pitches and changing facilities.

Cars will only be able to access the development via Forest Road and Evans Way.
